Description

With two matched and axis-aligned multi pattern capsules offers MCS-02 the full advantage of any stereo recording technique with only one microphone.
Try the X/Y, Mid/Side, Blumline or any other technique you can think of without any complicated setup. Just patch the cables, adjust the angle of the microphone head anywhere from 0 to 90 degrees and enjoy the clear, phase consistent recordings.

Excellent microphone! The microphone produces a very well balanced audio signal; a full low end with a sparkling (but not over-emphasized!) top end. Self noise is very low and is never disturbing. The outputs of the microphone were out of phase compared to my other microphones (European norm), but this could be solved by reversing 4 wires (2x2) inside the phantom adapter box. Strange enough, the output of the upper and lower microphone capsule were in opposite(!) phase when connected through the splitter cable, for direct connection to a phantom powered mixer input. IMHO this should not happen if quality control is adequate. On the other side the advantage was that I only had to reverse the wires in ONE XLR-3 connector, and not both... :) Apart from this minor critisism, a great microphone that I will not only use in stereo situations, but probably also as a high quality mono microphone. (Using only one capsule/output.) I am very happy with my MCS-02! Self noise is very low and is never disturbing.
